Ari Fuji is the first woman in Japan to become a captain of a major commercial airline. She graduated from Rikkyo University. After working as a co-pilot at JAL Express (now JAL) for 10 years, she become a captain in 2010. Terrific role model for all!
What advice do you have for the next generation of women in Japan?
Now’s the time to make attempts at things you’re interested in and find your own path. Even if people tell you that there’s no way it’ll work, you shouldn’t look for a reason to quit. The higher the wall is, the more rewarding the climb is.
