Today, we celebrate Mamiko Masumura, an urushi (lacquerware) artist. Before Mamiko, her father and grandfather were also lacquerware artists. She graduated from Tokyo University of the Arts, works as a research assistant and at the same time creates art at her studio.

本日は漆芸作家の増村真実子を紹介します。彼女は祖父、父の2代が漆芸作家の家庭に生まれました。東京学藝大学と大学院を卒業後、教育研究助手として働きつつスタジオで日々創作に励んでいます。
日本の伝統の漆と鮮やかな色を用いて現代風な作品を創っています。国境を越えて多くの人が懐かしいと共感し、作品を通じて自分と人を繋げることがやりがいです。彼女の個展は高島屋にて2月4日まで開催中です。興味のある方は是非お越しください。
