Born in Sydney, raised in Japan, Kyoko Yokota set up her company, Colabolabo, in 2006 providing business support to female entrepreneurs.Kyoko has organised businessmatching events in partnership with the Japanese Cabinet Office.
What do you think Japanese companies and/or government needs to do to help women in Japan?
Diversity is an important management strategy and will be an innovative "engine" for the Japanese economy. There is an urgent need to have diversity where decisions are made (management/board-level). It's key for young people and women to become empowered and take on challenges.
What advice do you have for the next generation of women in Japan?
Believe in yourself and cherish the journey. Let curiosity drive you. Learn by doing things! Focus on how to breakthrough and you will find your way.
